Ask not what outsourcing can do for you…

Most people are unfamiliar with outsourcing. So asking a question like: “How can outsourcing benefit my business?,” will generally produce a blank stare, or some pretty unremarkable answers.

If you asked me how I could incorporate a nuclear fission reactor into my day – I would also struggle to come up with good answers.

Instead, it’s better to ask questions relating to the benefits of outsourcing and how that can help your business.

People focus too much on what outsourcing is, and the mechanics of how it works, instead of focusing on the benefits of outsourcing and how it can benefit your business.

You don’t need to know how a combustion engine works in order to benefit from driving a car.

Try to resist getting caught up in the details of how outsourcing works. For a moment, just assume that it does work. Because, it does work.  Assume that quality is comparable, and recruitment, onboarding, and operations is equivalent.

The easiest way to think about outsourcing is just to consider it the same as traditional employment – but 70% cheaper.

Questions for your business

  • What could we do as a business if we could hire equally-capable staff at a 70% discount?
  • What could we do if we could triple the current workforce for the same amount of money?
  • How could we outcompete our market if we had easy access to the best of 8 billion people?
  • How could we grow if the labor shortages, skill shortages, jumping salaries and ‘Great Resignation’ did not apply to our company?
  • How could our company thrive if we participate in the global economy, and not just our local market?
