The Source mission
Our mission is simple. We want to highlight and promote the Philippines’ outsourcing services to the world. To do this, we built a user-generated (wiki) information hub and an open community.
The Source overview
The Source is a resource hub for current and future users of outsourcing. The content comes from the many skilled professionals inside the BPO industry itself. As a result, the advice is practical and comes from real experience.
The goal of this content is clear. First, it informs business owners. Next, it shows them the benefits of outsourcing. Finally, it encourages them to give it a try.
The main readers are founders, entrepreneurs, and the owners of small and medium businesses (SMB/SMEs). Simply put, too few of them have looked at outsourcing closely, and even fewer have tried it. So they need to know how good an opportunity it can be. They also need to know that the Philippines is the best place to do it. For a quick primer, they can explore the benefits of outsourcing before they start.
The Source blends the best parts of Medium, Quora, and LinkedIn. So it works as both a knowledge hub and a community. It is built for the needs of the BPO sector and their future SME clients.
Because of this, the whole industry is welcome to post useful content. The aim is to help buyers start and move along their outsourcing journey. When comfort grows and the barriers fall, more people will outsource.
Great content should do four things. First, it educates buyers about outsourcing. Next, it shows how easy it is to get started. It also explains the unique benefits of outsourcing to the Philippines. Finally, it raises the profile of the BPO that wrote it.
There are over 35 million SMEs in the “West.” So it is clearly a good thing if more of them outsource. This is a win for individual BPOs, a win for the sector, and a win for the Philippines as a whole.
With The Source, we want to encourage, challenge, and reward contributors. Good content reflects well on the author and the BPO. As a result, it can lead to introductions, new leads, and future sales. Over time, The Source aims to become the go-to resource for outsourcing. It also ranks articles by a clear “like” and “views” system, so the best content gets the most attention.
What is Outsourcing?
Most of you already know outsourcing well. Still, here is a quick overview. When we say outsourcing, we mean “staff outsourcing.” There are many names for it, such as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), offshoring, Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO), “call centre,” staff or seat leasing, shared services, and to some extent “captive operations.” We treat all of these as one basket. There are also remote and virtual staffing platforms like Upwork and Freelancer. These differ a little, but we include them under the broad outsourcing umbrella.
In general, outsourcing means services and staffing handed to a third party. According to Entrepreneur.com, outsourcing is: “The practice of having certain job functions done outside a company instead of having an in-house department or employee handle them; functions can be outsourced to either a company or an individual.” In the Philippines, we are talking about the BPO and outsourcing service industry. This sector employs over one million people. Moreover, it contributes a significant share of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). To see how far it has come, read about the history of outsourcing and the rise of the Philippines BPO industry.
Who is Outsource Accelerator?

Submit an article now
Anyone can submit an article, and you can start today. As noted above, we want content that helps business owners in three ways. First, it should show the benefits of outsourcing. Next, it should show how easy it is to start. Finally, it should explain why the Philippines is the top choice.
Your article does three jobs at once. It promotes Philippine outsourcing. It also promotes you as an outsourcing expert. In addition, it promotes your BPO or professional services.
It helps to offer real insight and tips for the reader. At the same time, you can show why your BPO stands out. The list of good topics is very broad. So we encourage you to share something of value, such as tips, tricks, and lessons from your own experience.
BPO rewards
Every accepted entry earns a minimum of 3 BPO Rewards (see above). You can exchange BPO Rewards for great products and services in our “shop.” You can also trade them with friends and your community. So it is a fun way to start your collection.

Article details
Engaging with a good message
We want this to be fun. Above all, we want to show the world how great the Philippines is for business and outsourcing. It is a great message to share. So we hope your articles are strongly focused on outsourcing and business. They should be informative, yet also fun and engaging.
Suggested structure
To help your article shine, we suggest you:
- promote outsourcing, and show how the Philippines is the world’s premier outsourcing destination
- explain how your BPO or services give excellent and unique value to business customers
- share a useful business insight, tip, trick, or hack for the reader (related to outsourcing)
Who can write and submit?
Anyone can submit and publish an article on The Source.
Still, the article should be written by a BPO, a member of the BPO workforce, or a remote worker. The focus should be the benefit of a potential BPO client. We want outsourcing experts to write great content for the end user of outsourcing. If you write about a specific BPO, please get their “okay” first. We also accept submissions from independent contractors and remote workers.
Length and quality
The format is up to you. Your article can be 100 words or 10,000 words. Still, we recommend at least 400 words. It can be plain text, or it can include images, videos, and infographics. The choice is yours.
You are free to promote your BPO and your know-how. However, please don’t make it too “salesy.” You can add images, videos, and infographics. You can also pick any relevant topic that interests you. In short, be as brief or as long as you like, with 400 words as a good minimum.
Share and promote your article
Once your article is live, you can share and promote it within your own community.
Specific items to consider
- The article must be written in English, with correct grammar, spelling, and structure.
- We don’t accept bad language or rude comments about any company or person.
- Topics must fit The Source, as per the suggested structure above.
- Links and references are welcome, but all links will be “no-follow” links.
- Back-linking to the article is fine and may boost likes and shares. Still, backlinks must be genuine and good quality.

- Your contributor profile and company page should be claimed, created, and kept up to date.
- Contributed articles and company page content are then owned by Outsource Accelerator.
- Content must be original and not copied. It should stay exclusive to us for at least three weeks before it is reused or posted elsewhere.

The Source article writing competition
To build interest for the launch of The Source in March 2018, we ran an article writing competition. The aim was to gather valuable articles that promote the Philippines as the “World’s Premier Outsourcing Destination.” Read about the competition here.
The competition was a big success. In total, over 380 contributors signed up and 75 articles were submitted by the community.
You can see the entries on The Source. You can also read here for a summary of the top 10 articles, and the three winners.
