In this week’s podcast episode, Derek Gallimore talked to Timothy Witucki, the CEO and Co-founder of Omada One.
The episode delves into Timothy’s journey as he transitioned from being an industry executive to starting his own outsourcing venture in 2021.
Timothy’s outsourcing journey
Timothy came to the Philippines from San Francisco, California, initially for a short-term project. In his 15-year stay in the country, Timothy observed technological advancements in the field of outsourcing.
“When I came [to the Philippines] 15 years ago, the technology wasn’t as advanced as it is now. We were doing a lot of premise-based technology, installation with a lot of hardware…
“The cloud technology wasn’t really established yet. The building, the contact centers, and the technology have advanced in the last 10 to 15 years, making the Philippines a destination for remote staffing.”
“The majority of outsourcing is now cloud-based due to the advance of technology. It’s been an amazing ride since the beginning days, ” He shared.
About Omada One
Timothy recounted his involvement with a BPO that operated in the U.S., Central, and South America.
His previous venture went well, which made him decide to move to the Philippines after dealing with the challenges of COVID-19. Timothy and his business partner then strategically launched Omada One in 2021.
“We started here in Makati, and then we expanded the company into the province where we have our delivery center, which is located in Clark.”
We are a sourcing company that provides dedicated remote staff and offshore staffing services, both onsite and remote work from home.”
Timothy recalled, “[After] the launch, we decided to stick to the specialization that we feel we’re really good at, and that’s kind of the niche areas or industries that we know for our clients.”
Omada One specializes in niche areas, primarily accounting, bookkeeping, CPAs, digital marketing, and social media content work.
Timothy discussed his daily efforts to educate [clients] about outsourcing and the lack of awareness in some individuals.
“I talk to [clients] every day about this. A lot of [clients] are not aware; they’re not educated. I try every day to educate [clients] when I’m speaking to them in a discovery call.
We talk about outsourcing in general. Why not consider outsourcing? I share stories about some of the world’s most well-known brands and company leaders that everybody knows are outsourcing.”
The Omada One CEO cited, “For example, Apple outsources the majority of their entire product lines manufacturing to specialist partners here in Asia. They don’t do that in San Francisco.
These industry giants recognize the power of outsourcing the non-core functions to specialists like us, allowing us to really focus and concentrate on core competencies.”
How does Omada One stay ahead in this highly competitive market?
Outsourcing has become a highly competitive market over the years. To deal with this, Omada One focuses on quality over quantity.
“We tell [clients] we are very transparent with our pricing and how we set ourselves apart from a lot of the competitors.
We used a lot of the tools when it comes to staffing and recruitment. [This] builds really good relationships, and [by] pooling of those candidates, we’ve got a great reputation.”
The company also commits to providing “really good benefits from day one.” This sets them apart from other BPOs that wait until employees become regular employees before providing standard benefits.
Timothy is also big on transparency. He walks potential clients through the details, providing transparency on costs while emphasizing that a significant portion of the quoted price goes towards salaries.
This transparent approach resonates well with clients and sets Omada One apart from others.
