Hugo named Outsourcing Impact Champion
Hugo’s innovative “Hugo Academy” initiative was recognized as the 2025 Outsourcing Impact Champion for its transformative approach to closing the education-to-employment gap for underrepresented African youth.
The initiative, introduced in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Senegal, has enabled more than 2,083 youths, including 66 percent of females in placements, to demonstrate that talent pools that are easily overlooked can succeed just as well in the global labor market.
From a cohort of 1,320 recent college graduates, 94.5% have successfully completed their programs. Of these, 668 have secured positions with international clients in Hugo, experiencing a remarkable 170% increase in pay compared to local rates. This significant pay increase has been life-changing for 89% of the graduates, and 95% report a considerable improvement in their career prospects.

Key findings from OIR 2025 Report
The OIR 2025 Report highlights significant contributions by the outsourcing sector toward global social responsibility goals. This year, participants donated over $100 million in resources—a notable increase from the previous year—and dedicated 6,555 volunteer hours to community causes. Volunteerism and active engagement are clearly becoming the industry’s primary modes of giving back. The report also reveals that 377,253 individuals benefited directly from these initiatives.
Derek Gallimore, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Outsource Accelerator, commented, “The 2025 OIR Awards and Report serve as a testament to the growing role of the outsourcing industry in global sustainability efforts. Companies are not only redefining the outsourcing model but are also transforming how businesses across industries can contribute to positive social change. This report highlights their leadership in addressing pressing global challenges and serving the community.”
OIR 2025: Redefining possibilities
This year’s report indicates that the industry is moving towards long-term, holistic approaches to positive change. The growing employee-led volunteering and the increasing concern about sustainability are only some of the trends shaping the future of outsourcing.
The report notes that a rising number of outsourcing companies are aligning their activities with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in quality education, climate action, and decent work and economic growth.
