100% Fully Operational Amid Lockdown
With the announcement of a nationwide lockdown, our main priority was to make sure all client operations were impacted as little as possible. We took a proactive response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, moving our operations to a remote setup to ensure that your operations were not interrupted. Each staff member received new desktop computers with industry-leading licensed patches and software to keep productivity at peak levels. We provided 3CX telephony systems to ensure you could reach us without interruptions. We also provided faultless internet connections and secure remote connectivity to each staff’s office-based workstations at our headquarters to maintain the protection of your data security at all costs. These measures ensured that each of our clients continued to provide the same high level of service to customers even as the world shut down.
Australia’s first ever research into the offshoring of Accounting services
As part of our commitment to continuous learning and improvement of what we can do for our clients, we partnered with Bond University, one of the world’s most reputable academic institutions, to release a study titled “Offshoring of Accounting Services in Australia.” The report takes a deep dive into the offshoring practices of small and medium accounting firms in Australia, with special focus on what makes offshoring experiences successful. The study was conducted by Bond University’s Professor Keith Duncan and Dr. Tim Hasso. 1,125 accountants from 1,160 small and medium sized firms participated in the study. The study revealed data that could be leveraged by our clients to target audiences and improve their services more effectively, such as what tasks are most offshored by their peers (which shows what areas of your business you can successfully offshore as well), training and team integration practices (which can help with creating seamless strategies between your organisation and our offshore team), and other critical success factors that you can apply in your business as you leverage our offshore capabilities.
The A to Z of Offshoring at the Accounting Business Expo 2020
Staff Domain was an exhibitor in this year’s Accounting Business Expo 2020, Australia’s largest annual business event, which took place virtually in November. We featured a presentation on “The A to Z of Offshore Accounting” covering all aspects of the business solution, including insights from the study discussed earlier, critical success factors, tips on finding the right offshore partner and more. Participants also had access to a question-and-answer session with Staff Domain co-founders Justin Pavsic and Ben Rajah, who is also our Chief Financial Officer. We also provided a download of documents spanning the various ‘A to Z of Outsourcing’ topics covered during the ABE 2020, which was exclusively available during the expo.
Uplifting Staff Through Internal Events
Promoting work-life balance is part of what makes Staff Domain attractive to high calibre employees. We believe that happy and motivated employees are productive employees, and so we uplifted our staff during this time of uncertainty with fun weekly digital events. Through these activities, we cultivated camaraderie and strengthened our relationship as a team while having fun from the comfort of our homes. We held Virtual Bingo Bonanza events that were open not just to Staff Domain employees but to everyone who wanted to join. Players got a chance to win up to Php 2,500 while interacting via Zoom.
We tested our people’s general knowledge in Trivia Night with prizes for the winners.
At a time when we could all do with a laugh, we brought staff two hiliarous stand up comedy nights featuring two acclaimed Filipino stand-up comedians, Alex Calleja and Nonong Ballinan.
Finally, just because you can’t trick or treat, doesn’t mean you can’t dress up! We celebrated Halloween with an employee photo contest for the spookiest look. We also had an internal Spooky Trivia Night where we tested our staff’s knowledge on all things related to Halloween.
In summary, it was a tough year, but you know the old adage – when life hands you lemons, make lemonade… and use zoom!
