Overview
A Masters is a global recruitment agency that places rigorously vetted Filipino virtual assistants with businesses worldwide. We are not a staffing pool. We run a custom recruitment process for every single role, built around what a specific business actually needs.
Our six-stage process starts with more than 1,000 applications per role and presents only the top two or three candidates. Every role gets a custom skills test built to simulate the actual work, not a generic assessment. Across our full pipeline we have reviewed 166,350 applications and place roughly 1 in 508 applicants.
We work across any industry where the work can be done remotely: e-commerce, digital marketing, real estate, financial services, healthcare, technology, professional services and more. Our clients are mostly small and growing businesses. 87% of them employ fewer than 50 people, and 57% have ten or fewer.
Clients save up to 80% on operational costs compared with hiring locally, and most tell us the bigger gain is time. The median role is filled in 18 days, and the median client is in their onboarding meeting two days after signing.
What VA Masters offers its clients
Our six-stage recruitment process
Every placement is recruited from scratch for the specific role.
Stage 1: A detailed job posting built around the client's actual requirements Stage 2: Candidate collection, typically 1,000+ applications per role Stage 3: Initial screening on connectivity, English and relevant experience Stage 4: A custom skills test that simulates the real work of the role Stage 5: In-depth interviews covering communication, judgment and fit Stage 6: Client interviews with the two or three best-matched candidates
What this means in practice
No generic placements. Every virtual assistant is recruited for one specific role.
Custom skills testing. We build the test around the client's actual tasks. We also encourage candidates to use AI during assessments, because what we are measuring is judgment and whether they can catch where the output falls short.
Support that continues after placement. Onboarding, training, payroll administration and ongoing performance management for both the business and the assistant.
Full SOP development. We help document processes from scratch where none exist.
The quality data behind it. 80% of placed virtual assistants have fluent or native-level English, against 62% of the applicant pool. 65% bring three or more years of relevant experience, against 36% of the pool. Average skill-test score among hires is 4.0 out of 5.
Where we are strongest: roles that need initiative and independent problem-solving, not just task execution.
How VA Masters outshines the competition
1. Selectivity, measured We place roughly 1 in 508 applicants. That figure comes from 166,350 applications processed through our own pipeline, not an estimate. The custom skills test is built around the client's real work.
2. A different model, not a replacement for one Traditional outsourcing was built for high-volume repeatable work managed through layers between the client and the worker. That model still does what it was designed to do. What we offer is different: dedicated team members who work directly inside a client's tools, understand the brand, and handle work that needs judgment. Businesses increasingly want both, for different jobs.
3. Partnership, not transaction We do not disappear after placement. Training, SOP documentation, payroll administration and ongoing management are part of the engagement. 1 in 5 clients expands beyond their first virtual assistant.
4. Any role, any industry E-commerce operations, digital marketing, real estate administration, QA testing, customer service, data analysis, bookkeeping, graphic design, and dozens more. If the work can be done remotely, we can recruit for it.
5. Speed that is actually measured Median 18 days from opening a role to a successful hire, and 42% of roles close within two weeks. Median two days from signing to the first onboarding meeting.
6. Cultural and operational fit We understand both what international businesses expect and how Filipino professionals work best. That is what produces placements that last rather than placements that fill a seat.
VA Masters company structure
VA Masters is a global recruitment agency founded in 2021, operating as a fully remote business serving clients across the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Europe, with recruitment and delivery operations in the Philippines.
The company was founded after its own operational problem. Running a fast-growing business and unable to delegate locally at a price that made sense, the founder hired a virtual assistant remotely. That hire is still with the company today. What began as a personal fix became the thesis of the business: most founders do not have a growth problem, they have a bandwidth problem, and the talent to solve it sits outside their postcode.
Unlike large corporate outsourcing providers, we stay deliberately hands-on. Founders are directly involved in recruitment quality and client outcomes. That structure lets us move quickly, build a custom process for each client, and hold the standards that produce the placement rate and retention figures we publish.
Roughly 30 people run the company across recruitment, finance, analytics, operations and development. Today more than 1,000 virtual assistants have been placed with businesses worldwide.

What clients get: up to 80% lower operational costs than hiring locally, and the time back to work on the business instead of inside it.
A real example: a client replaced a set of recurring specialist tasks that were costing them roughly $4,200 a month locally. The same work is now handled by a dedicated virtual assistant, at a fraction of the cost and without the overhead of an in-house hire.
