SBMA to outsource 300 jobs in February
The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) said it will outsource more than 300 positions to outsourcing companies starting this February. The plan is to have 307 personnel provide by outsourcing companies that will provide janitorial, ground maintenance, building, security and housing security services. The employees who will be affected by the outsourcing plan have already been informed through written notices sent in April 2018. SBMA senior deputy administrator for support services Ramon Agregado said the outsourcing plan is in compliance with the order by the Department of Budget and Management, which recommended the outsourcing of these personnel. SBMA officials said outsourcing and position reclassification serve as safety nets to avert financial hardship for workers that are affected by the order to end contractualization in government service. Other free ports such as Clark and Bataan have already outsourced some of their personnel.
